If you believe the book of Genesis is an accurate account of the beginning of mankind, like I do, then you should be familiar with the the 27th verse of the first chapter (NASB):

God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Now if the Creator of all things created man in His own image, then the ability and passion to create will definitely be a huge part of His likeness that has been deposited in us. We all have that drive to create something in one form or the other. I sought this in engineering, doctoral research, and technical paper publications, but I was never fully satisfied. I always felt I had something more to give, another way to express my creativity even without a financial payoff in the end.

By now you have an idea of what I am driving at, with this being the introductory post of this blog. To confirm what you are thinking, yes, I created this website as an avenue to express my creativity in form of writing; fiction, motivational, and sometimes technical stuff. I do not always enjoy some parts of the process, notably the initial part of writing a piece in which you have a vague idea of what you want to create but the words just do not seem to come. A condition aptly named writer’s block. Funny I see it as a feeling exaggeratedly equivalent to banging one’s head on a block of concrete. I relish the other parts of the writing process. Not so many activities give me more joy than the rush in the middle of writing, toward the end when the words are flowing freely from the mind to the fingertips, jumping to life on the computer screen. It is beautiful!

This website existed in another form, on another platform, around seven years ago, but I had to discontinue that blog to focus on wrapping up my PhD. I promise not to jettison this one like its predecessor. I also have some old pieces I will be sharing from the former blog and other platforms which I have written for in the past. You will find those posts in the “Oldie but Goodie” category here.

The posts on this website will mostly be about stuff I find interesting; commentary on various subtopics in technology, sports, and current events. You will also find a lot of creative and motivational writings. Maybe down the line, I would choose to focus on a specific area of topics, but don’t let me get ahead of myself right now: A wise man (J. P. Morgan) once said, and I quote “Go as far as you can see; when you get there, you’ll be able to see farther”, i.e. take the first step, and be ready to evolve.

Circling back to the scriptural verse at the beginning of this post, I believe we all have some creative juice in us, that part of God deposited in you when He created you in His image, after His likeness. Find it, nurture it, and do us all a favor by sharing that God-given talent with the world.

Create!
